Tour Details
Starting at the base of Sarkofagen, we’ll climb the glacier’s moraine before transitioning to glacier walking, which will take about 2.5 Km long one way, with an elevation gain of 400 meters through snow covered terrain until the entrance, so it is a physically demanding hike, although you may use micro-spikes and hiking poles as an extra help, which we will provide you with. The walking pace is adaptable to the group’s comfort and dynamics.
Once inside the ice cave, you’ll be rewarded with the breathtaking sight of the glacier’s inner chambers, where we’ll enjoy a warm lunch and captivating stories about the region. Please note, this tour is not suitable for those with claustrophobia.
Please bring the items listed below since a proper attire is essential for safety in the challenging, snowy conditions. The guide reserves the right to deny participation to guests not properly dressed for the hike.
