When is the winter season?
Winter tours run from around November through to mid-May. The polar night falls between mid-December and mid-January, and the sun returns from mid-January onwards.
Snowmobile tours
From a four-hour evening ride to Coles Bay up to ten-hour expeditions to the east and west coasts. Drivers need a valid class B driving licence.
Sightseeing and hiking
Ice caving, northern lights tours and sleigh rides — the calmer half of the winter programme, and the more family-friendly one.

Are winter tours suitable for children?
Some are. The minimum age varies by tour, from 6 years on the sleigh ride up to 12 years on the east coast expedition.
